Fun and Gratitude-Based Thanksgiving Crafts for Preschoolers

At Pelican Point Preschool, Thanksgiving is a special time to celebrate togetherness, thankfulness, and creativity! This season, we’re excited to share fun, hands-on crafts that help our little learners express gratitude while exploring their artistic side.

Our favorite gratitude-based crafts combine colorful materials with meaningful messages, perfect for toddlers and preschoolers:

Gratitude Cypress Trees:

Inspired by Louisiana’s beautiful cypress trees, children create paper trees and add leaves where they share things they’re thankful for. This simple activity helps kids reflect on what makes them happy and builds early emotional awareness.

Thankful Handprint Turkeys:

Using their own handprints, kids make bright, cheerful turkeys, each finger representing something they appreciate. It’s a fun way to practice fine motor skills while thinking about gratitude.

Gratitude Chains:

Kids write or draw on paper links about people or things they’re thankful for, then connect them to create a colorful chain. It’s a visual reminder of all the blessings in their lives and a great classroom decoration!

At Pelican Point Preschool, we believe teaching gratitude through creative activities nurtures kindness, empathy, and joy in every child. We’re proud to celebrate Thanksgiving with crafts that inspire both fun and thankfulness — Louisiana style!

We look forward to hearing from you!
