Craft Ideas for Homemade Father’s Day Gifts

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a heartfelt, handmade gift? At Pelican Point Preschool, we love encouraging creativity and thoughtfulness in our little learners. Whether it’s for dads, grandpas, uncles, or father figures, these craft ideas are perfect for tiny hands and big hearts. Best of all, they’re easy to make at home with supplies you likely already have!

1. “You Rock” Paperweight

Let your child paint a rock in fun colors or patterns. Once dry, help them write “Dad, You Rock!” on it with a permanent marker. Spray with a sealant to preserve it. It’s a cute and functional gift he can keep on his desk or in his toolbox!

2. Handprint Tool Belt Card

Cut out a “tool belt” shape and glue it to a folded card. Add paper tools like hammers, screwdrivers, or wrenches poking out of the belt. Finish it with your child’s handprint and a sweet message like, “I’ll always lend you a hand, Dad!”

3. “All About Dad” Interview Sheet

Ask your child questions like “My dad’s favorite food is…” or “My dad is as strong as…” and write down their adorable answers. These always bring laughs and sometimes tears! Decorate the sheet with drawings or stickers.

4. Popsicle Stick Picture Frame

Help your child glue popsicle sticks into a square frame and decorate it. Once dry, attach a photo in the middle. Add magnets to the back for the fridge or string to hang it up.

Homemade gifts show love and effort—and at Pelican Point Preschool, we believe that’s the best kind of present. These crafts help children express their appreciation while building fine motor skills, creativity, and confidence. Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads in our community! 💙

We look forward to hearing from you!
