Creative Ways to Use Leftover Halloween Candy

At Pelican Point Preschool, we believe that kindness is one of the most important things we can teach our little ones. That’s why we love celebrating Random Act of Kindness Day! It’s a reminder that even the smallest gestures can make a big impact and brighten someone’s day. Here are 5 simple ways to spread kindness—perfect for our preschoolers and families to try together:

1. Give a Compliment:

A kind word can go a long way! Encourage your child to give a compliment to a friend or teacher, whether it’s about their smile, their art, or how they helped in class. It’s a simple way to make someone feel special.

2. Share a Hug:

Sometimes, all someone needs is a hug. Teach your child that offering a comforting hug (with permission, of course!) can make someone’s day a little brighter.

3. Help a Friend:

Whether it’s picking up a dropped crayon or helping a classmate with a puzzle, teaching kids to lend a hand is a great way to instill kindness and teamwork from a young age.

4. Create a Kindness Card:

Crafting a homemade card with sweet words or a fun drawing is a great way for preschoolers to show kindness. These cards can be given to teachers, friends, or even family members.

5. Say "Thank You":

A simple “thank you” can go a long way. Encourage your child to express gratitude, whether it’s for a snack, a helping hand, or just for being there. It’s an easy way to spread positivity!

At Pelican Point Preschool, we’re teaching our little ones that kindness isn’t just for special days—it’s something we can practice every day! We hope these small acts inspire you and your child to make kindness a part of your everyday routine.
