5 Fun Mardi Gras Crafts for Kids to Try at Home!

Mardi Gras is a time for fun, color, and creativity! At Pelican Point Preschool, we love celebrating the season with crafts, and we’ve come up with 5 easy Mardi Gras projects for kids to enjoy at home:

DIY Mardi Gras Masks –

Grab some colorful construction paper, glitter, feathers, and markers to create unique masks. Let your little ones design their own with all the traditional Mardi Gras colors: purple, green, and gold. You can even add beads or sequins for extra sparkle!

Beaded Necklaces –

No Mardi Gras celebration is complete without beads! String colorful beads onto a piece of yarn or string to make a fun necklace. Add your own special touches like small charms or mini bells to make them even more festive.

Crown Decorations –

Create a royal Mardi Gras crown using construction paper or cardboard. Let your kids decorate it with glitter, stickers, and shiny paper for a truly majestic look. Perfect for pretending to be Mardi Gras royalty!

Mardi Gras Floats –

Let your child’s imagination run wild by building their own mini Mardi Gras float! Use a shoebox or small cardboard box as the base, and decorate it with paint, stickers, and glitter. Add small toy figurines or homemade paper decorations to complete the float!

Handprint Mardi Gras King Cake –

Capture the fun of Mardi Gras by turning your child’s handprint into a king cake! Paint their hand with purple, green, and gold paint, and stamp it onto a piece of paper. Then, add icing details and even a hidden “baby” (a small toy or cutout) to represent the traditional king cake!

These easy and creative Mardi Gras crafts are perfect for getting your kids in the festive spirit and adding some colorful fun to your home this season!

We look forward to hearing from you!
